ESAS KIT
If the led of the Rider Interface is blinking red it means that the ESAS kit has ran out of battery.
Simply plug the provided USB type-C charger to restore the battery level up to 100% and get ready for another ride!
The ESAS kit has identified a problem. Try to switch off and switch on the ESAS kit.
If the error is gone then you can continue using your ESAS as usual.
If the error is stil showing ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 01 - LED” in the “Request code” field.
There is a communication problem between the Smart Battery Pack and the Rider Interface. Try to switch off and switch on the ESAS kit.
If the error is gone (wait at least 60s after the switch on) then you can continue using your ESAS as usual.
If the error is stil showing ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 01 - LED” in the “Request code” field.
The ESAS kit is charging. When the battery is fully charged the led is green fixed and the charger can be unplugged.
The Rider Interface led could be damaged. Try to switch off and switch on the ESAS kit.
If the problem is gone then you can continue using your ESAS as usual.
If the problem is stil showing ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 01 - LED” in the “Request code” field.
There could be different causes. Try to perform these actions:
- Plug in the USB charger: if the led correctly shows the glowing it means that the ESAS kit is correctly working and the problem was temporary.
- Press for 10s the Rider Interface button: if the ESAS kit resets itself then it is correctly working and the problem was temporary.
If the problem is stil showing after these tests, ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 01 - LED” in the “Request code” field.
The ESAS kit is experiencing an irreversible problem.
Please ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 01 - LED” in the “Request code” field.
Press for 10s the Rider Interface button: if the ESAS kit resets itself then it is correctly working and the problem was temporary.
If the problem is stil showing after these tests, ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 02 - Button” in the “Request code” field.
If the Rider Interface led is always off give a look to the dedicated FAQ.
If the Rider Interface led is constantly glowing multiple colours give a look at the dedicated FAQ.
If the Rider Interface led is not showing glowing while the charger is connected there could be a problem with the charger or with the Rider Interface itself.
Please ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 03 - Charger” in the “Request code” field.
The ESAS kit is tested and certified considering only the provided charger.
Using a different charger invalidate the warranty of the entire ESAS kit.
If you need a new charger ask the dealer or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 03 - Charger” in the “Request code” field.
Try to switch off and on the ESAS kit to reset the suspension lock-out system.
If the suspension cannot be locked even in MANUAL mode then ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 04 - Suspension” in the “Request code” field.
Try to switch off and on the ESAS kit to reset the suspension lock-out system.
If the suspension cannot be unlocked even in MANUAL mode then ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 04 - Suspension” in the “Request code” field.
The standard use of the ESAS could cause some scratch on the suspension because of the flexibility of the frame.
Scratches does not imply malfunction of the suspension that still work perfectly disregarding the surface condition.
To avoid scratches on the suspension we suggest to keep the lower cup constantly lubricated*.
The ESAS kit does not require specific maintenance operations to work.
Just keep in mind this suggestions:
- keep the lower cup constantly lubricated*
- use only the provided type-C charger to charge ESAS avoiding any other type-C charger
You can replace the elastomeric spring with the different one provided with the ESAS kit.
Simply follow the instruction that you can find in the User Manual.

The ESAS Smart Battery Pack is designed to be perfectly fixed to the frame even with one out of two screw. In this case the ESAS is still working as it should.
If you hear some annoying noise coming from the frame then ask the dealer for further information or send us a support request using the Service Form page specifying “Issue Code 05 - Smart Battery Pack” in the “Request code” field.
ESAS DATA FIELD
Sure! With a Garmin bike computer you can easily monitor the suspension state and modify the ESAS settings during the ride as fast as you swipe usually between data screens.
If you do not own a Garmin you can give a look to the Rider Interface to check if the suspension is locked or unlocked and if you waant to switch between profiles or modes you only have to press the Rider Interface button.
The ESAS data field is compatible with all Garmin bike computers that supports Connect IQ. The last version released on the Connect IQ Store (1.1.0) is compatible with:
- Garmin Edge 520
- Garmin Edge 820 and Edge 820 Explore
- Garmin Edge 1000 and Edge 1000 Explore
- Garmin Edge 1030
Garmin is increasing the number of Connect IQ compatible bike computers so the ESAS data field is constantly updated to support all the newest devices!
To install the ESAS data field on your Garmin bike computer simply look for it on the Connect IQ Store and install it using GarminExpress.
If you prefer to use the Garmin smartphone app you have to connect your smartphone to the Garmin bike computer using Bluetooth and then start the installation of the ESAS data field from the app.
If you want to monitor the suspension state using the ESAS data field all you need to do is to add it to a data screen. Follow these steps:
- Select an Activity Profile
- Add a new Data Screen
- Select the category “Connect IQ”
- Choose “HiRide”
- Confirm the layout with a single data field
- Ready to ride!
After the first installation, the ESAS data field automatically look for an active ESAS kit. To guarantee a correct match read carefully these tips:
- bring the Garmin bike computer within 1m of the ESAS Rider Interface;
- stay at least 10m away from any other ANT or ANT+ active device
If the ESAS data field does not show the correct data try to place the Garmin as close as possible to the Rider Interface.
If the ESAS data field shows only dashes it means that it is not connect to any ESAS kit.
If you have already connected the ESAS kit to the Garmin bike computer then probably the ESAS kit need to be switched on.
If the ESAS kit is on then try to reset the connection with the Garmin by tapping three times in the Sensor Zone of the data field or by using the dedicated switch placed in Garmin Express.
If you see “DEVICE ERROR” on your ESAS data field a problem has been identified on the ESAS kit (you should see red LED on the Rider Interface). The ESAS data field is working correctly. Try to switch off and switch on the ESAS kit.
If the error is gone then you can continue using your ESAS as usual.

If you see an IQ icon on a blank screen on your Garmin bike computer the ESAS data field encountered a main error.
To resume the data field switch between different Activity Profiles or switch off and on your Garmin.
